Act Now to Save Critical Funding for Abode
Although we’ve scored advocacy victories at the local level, new federal policies could soon hurt our mission by slashing budgets of nonprofit agencies like ours and threatening the survival of key programs.
We are at risk of losing critical funding for our homeless services, and we need your help to save it.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) might interrupt the funding of Continuum of Care (CoC) programs, according to the National Alliance to End Homelessness. If left unchecked, HUD’s new policies could harm agencies – such as Abode – that provide homeless services. In addition, putting CoC resources at risk nationwide would destabilize programs, displace the people they serve, and badly hinder the work of agencies’ staffs and community partners.
We urge you to contact your local member of congress to stop HUD’s plans. You can contact them here.
We encourage you to share this message:
“I am disappointed that the Department of Housing and Urban Development continues to act recklessly when it comes to critical CoC Program funding. Please urge the Appropriations Committee leadership to use the upcoming Continuing Resolution to preserve the funding of CoC funding and resources, as originally planned. Thank you.”
Remember, you will be contacting your legislator as a constituent, not as a formal Abode representative.
