Mission

Abode's mission is to end homelessness by assisting low-income, un-housed people, including those with special needs, to secure stable, supportive housing; and to be advocates for the removal of the causes of homelessness.

Our Mission

We were founded in Alameda County in 1989, when a small group of people came together to address the growing problem of homelessness in the Tri-City Area.

Since then, we have expanded our impact throughout the Bay Area, serving more than 15,000 people each year in Alameda, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, San Mateo, Napa, and Solano counties.

We develop and implement innovative programs to end homelessness. Our agency is built on the principles of Housing First, a proven approach that has yielded far superior results than those of past strategies for ending homelessness. Our results show how effective our work has been at ending homelessness for vulnerable children and adults in our community.
