STUDy results

A UCSF study shows that permanent supportive housing is very successful at helping chronically homeless individuals keep their housing and escape homelessness. The study tested the efficacy of Project Welcome Home, a permanent supportive housing program provided by Abode in partnership with Santa Clara County.

Researchers found that 86 percent of the program’s participants were successfully rehoused.

Also, on average, participants remained housed for 93 percent of the time they were in the study.

PARTICIPANT statistics

We are dedicated to measuring our progress and reporting those results to our community. Here are some key statistics that illustrate the real impact we’re having on ending homelessness.

During the 2025 fiscal year:

  • We assisted 18,090 people in our programs.

  • We served 12,044 households.

  • We placed 2,768 new people into housing.

  • We assisted 4,466 children.

  • We served 4,331 seniors.

  • 25 percent of those we served are children.

Accreditation Status

CARF accreditation is an additional indicator that Abode delivers consistently outstanding services. We are re-accredited every three years.

In 2025, Abode Services was accredited for another three years by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities Commission (CARF), an international agency that accredits health and human services organizations. It’s a testament to our high-quality programs, outstanding staff, and commitment to excellence.

Abode Services received its first three-year accreditation status – the maximum length of accreditation – from CARF in 2022. CARF’s status report after both accreditations extensively detailed Abode’s strengths. This achievement reflects Abode’s commitment, dedication, and passion to providing quality services to our participants, residents, housing partners, property owners, and community partners.

We thank all Abode staff employees for helping us earn this achievement.
