Director of Employee Experience
Deja is responsible for the design, consistency, and quality of the employee experience across the full career lifecycle at Abode. She ensures that every step of an employee’s journey at Abode reinforces professionalism, reflects the organization’s values, and advances its mission to solve homelessness.
Prior to joining Abode, Deja served as Director of Workplace and Employee Experience at Together Labs, where she provided strategic leadership over employee experience, engagement, and culture during a period of organizational growth and operational complexity. Deja is a strategic, people-centered leader with 15 years of experience designing and stewarding employee experience in mission-driven and high-growth organizations. She is known for building consistent, equitable experience standards, partnering with managers and HR on workplace challenges and performance conversations, and translating employee feedback into actionable improvements. She excels in change leadership and crafting high-quality employee experience across recruitment, onboarding, engagement, recognition, and retention. She is committed to cultivating a strong sense of partnership, culture, trust, and inclusion in the workplace.
As a certified office ergonomics evaluator and a former facilities manager, Deja has extensive experience in overseeing the design and construction of headquarters and workplace spaces, balancing operational requirements, employee experience, and brand standards. She has supported the launch and ongoing operations of satellite offices and managed vendor-supported services and front-of-house operations as daily touchpoints for employee engagement and workplace culture.
