Christian Gutierrez
Director of Housing Programs, Alameda County & San Mateo County
Christian oversees a large housing program portfolio in Alameda and San Mateo counties. In this role, he provides leadership to our teams that work closely with landlords, county officials, and service providers to re-house those who have experienced homelessness.
Christian has spent nearly a decade providing leadership at nonprofit organizations, creating and managing strategic programs aimed at establishing self-sufficiency and breaking cycles of poverty. He is fluent in Spanish and is a skilled public speaker who is adept at cultivating support among stakeholders. He also has strong experience in staff leadership and management expertise, including hiring, training, and evaluating personnel.
At his previous job at the San Diego Housing Commission, Christian designed, developed, implemented, and monitored programs that helped eligible HUD participants prepare and/or return to work. He also built and fostered relationships with local organizations and community leaders to provide resources to families, including access to technology, financial decision-making, nutrition counseling, computer proficiency, and more.
Christian has a Bachelor’s degree in communication from Cal State San Marcos. He holds a Master’s degree in public administration from National University.
