Alyssa Wieting
Vice President of Fundraising and Communications
Alyssa oversees all fundraising, development, and communications activities for Abode, leading a department that acts as a liaison with community groups, media, government leaders, and volunteers. She manages the organization’s marketing and media strategies and oversees Abode’s online presence, including its social media platforms and website management.
Alyssa is a mission-driven individual who is passionate about fundraising. Having worked in both nonprofit and political fundraising, Alyssa uses her diverse skill set, dedication, and experience with major gifts and donor relationships to help equip organizations with the means to plan a fundraising strategy that is best suited for their mission and goals.
Alyssa comes to Abode Services from CORA - Community Against Relationship Abuse, where she served as Development Director. In that role, she managed all fundraising and communications staff and was responsible for raising over $8 million annually. She also has experience independently managing a $1 million political reelection campaign for a U.S. congressman, securing its funds and building relationships with major donors and community leaders. Her work has taken her all over the globe, having worked and lived in Asia, Africa, and Europe; she now resides in the Bay Area.
Alyssa holds a Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago and a Master’s degree from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. She holds a Certified Fundraising Executive certification and currently sits on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Silicon Valley Chapter.
