Community leaders are often personally moved by the plight of people in their midst who are homeless. Important institutions like foundations, faith communities, and civic associations are ready to devote volunteer labor and funding

But what is frequently missing in these charitable efforts is the high-level expertise to translate good will and resources into results.

Abode Services partners with local communities to move beyond the traditional stopgap approach to homelessness to actually achieving permanent housing. We work with foundations, service groups, corporations, and other local supporters to connect people with giving opportunities that are effective and life-changing - for both the donors and the people who benefit.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is best known for its philanthropic efforts focused on health in the developing world. However, the Foundation is also interested in combating poverty and homelessness in its home state of Washington, primarily by improving coordination among current service providers and fostering public-private partnerships.

Whole Foods Market Fremont

Whole Foods Market broke ground on its Fremont store in January 2013. As construction continued through the spring and summer, the store’s marketing team looked for ways to raise Whole Foods’ profile in the community and publicize their grand opening scheduled for September.

The New Orleans-based owners of Premier Nissan Kia of Fremont understand the importance of helping your community in a time of need. The couple, Tracy and Troy Duhon, helped their city in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and decided to begin a foundation to help the communities in which their 22 auto dealerships are located
