Scott Wagner
Director of Housing & Services, Northern Region
Scott oversees all of Abode’s Napa County operations and programs, including outreach, housing, and shelter services. He provides oversight to ensure successful implementation, evaluation, and coordination of services, and to ensure program compliance with funding regulations, program goals, and stakeholder expectations. Scott helps oversee business development and expansion of Abode’s services in Sonoma, Solano, and Contra Costa counties, fostering new partnerships in those areas and providing programs that help homeless, formerly homeless, and low-income households transition into new homes and improve their health and well-being. He supports funding applications, contract development, and partnership building to help those in need in those communities. He supervises three program managers and other key staff and collaborates regularly with others on Abode’s senior leadership team to increase the agency’s positive impact.
Scott’s work experience includes nearly a decade of managerial and direct service experience with organizations that assist low-income individuals and underserved populations by providing free legal services for eviction defense, public benefits access and advocacy, and myriad other critical social services. As the managing director of the Safety Net Project at the Urban Justice Center in New York City, he provided vision and leadership around all programming, managed its $3 million annual budget, and spearheaded fundraising efforts, including developing relationships with foundations and individual donors, overseeing grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with all grant and contract obligations.
Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the University of Dayton, and a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law.
