Providing School Supplies and Food Donations
There are many generous people in the communities that we serve. As a result, we often hear the same questions from our donors and supporters.
“What is the best way we can help? And where can we give?”
At our emergency shelter right now - in the middle of summer - there are a couple of specific ways you can help.
For parents in our programs, it's never too soon to receive back-to-school supplies. What might seem like standard tools of learning can be much-needed supplies for formerly homeless children. Donors are encouraged to give items like notebooks, pencils, pens, binders, calculators, scissors, crayons, and more, as they can make a difference in helping young students succeed in the classroom.
Your food donations can also make a difference for children and adults. We are in need of non-perishable food and canned goods.
Please drop off donations of school supplies or non-perishable food at Sunrise Village Emergency Shelter, 588 Brown Road, Fremont, CA 95448.
Do you still have questions on how to give to help families and children in our emergency shelter? Please contact our Volunteer Program Manager, Alyssa Santos, at asantos@abode.org or 510-807-8199 for more information.
Thank you for your continued support!
