Katie Fantin
Vice President of Programs - Santa Clara, Santa Cruz & San Mateo Counties

At Abode, Katie oversees housing and program operations in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Mateo counties, supporting director-level staff who have oversight of Abode’s teams on the ground. Katie also oversees the Bay Area Furniture Bank as part of Abode's strategic alliance with the South Bay organization.

Her departments works closely with the county governments, landlords, and multiple service providers and nonprofit groups to effectively re-house families, people with significant disabilities, veterans, and other vulnerable groups. Katie fosters and maintains crucial relationships with community stakeholders, innovates to develop new programs, and improves ongoing program delivery systems.

Katie joined Abode in 2015 as a Program Manager in San Mateo County, where she helped launch new programs. Katie was appointed Director of Housing Programs in 2017, and was promoted again in 2022 to her current position of Vice President of Programs. Her work experience includes more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector. During that time, she has served as executive director of an East Palo Alto nonprofit organization that provided housing for young mothers ages 19-22. She also provided program direction and management at other nonprofit groups, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity.

Katie holds a Bachelor’s degree in politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
