Christopher was a trained wine educator and restaurant leader who was thriving in Napa’s hot foodie scene. But a workplace injury was followed by more misfortune. When a money settlement tied to the injury did not arrive on time, Christopher was unable to work and with no income, he soon depleted his savings. For almost a year, he lived in his truck with his service dog. He then spent a brief time in a shelter before he found housing with Abode’s help.  

Christopher, an energetic doer who likes to give back, once started a regular meal program that fed as many as 50 individuals in need. Those efforts reflect his compassion, and he says he sees similarities in Abode’s work. “Abode has been a blessing for me,” he said.
