Home Together Move-in Assistance Fund

The Home Together Move-In Assistance Fund is a flexible resource that Alameda County residents experiencing homelessness can access to help cover move-in costs after securing permanent housing. Eligible participants can access the Fund one time with a maximum spending amount of $5,000. Abode Services serves as the Fund Operator, receiving applications from participants’ service providers and helping purchase certain items, paying directly for services, or reimbursing providers when necessary.

Household Eligibility

The Home Together Move-In Assistance Fund is available to individuals and households that meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Currently experiencing homeless OR exited homelessness within the last 60 days with a confirmed move into housing.

• Maximum household income at, or below, 30% Area Median Income (AMI).

• Has not previously received funding from the Home Together Move-In Assistance Fund, HCS Housing Deposits or the Home Stretch Housing Assistance Fund. Note: This requirement does not apply to applicants who are utilizing funds within their 6-month authorization period.

Funding Limits

Fund assistance is meant to enable a person to secure housing and obtain basic household items. Eligible participants can access the funds one time with a maximum spending amount of $5,000. Prior support from HCS Housing Deposits or the Housing Assistance Fund count against this one-time limit. Providers are able to apply for an exception in the case of emergency relocations, however this funding is not guaranteed.

How to Apply to the Home Together Move-in Assistance Fund

1. All requests are submitted electronically via Padmission Journey.

2. Users must work at an eligible service provider.

3. New users must complete an online training course and user agreement before gaining access.
